The sports drink industry is a massive market, with a value of $26 billion. Key Statistics:
• The market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.8% from 2024 to 2030. • The market is driven by increasing demand for performance-enhancing products, especially among young athletes. A 12-year-old boy from Redondo Beach, Robbie Sherwood, is looking to make a name for himself in this market with his innovative new sports drink, PRISMAX.
“My dream is to be a CEO,” says Robbie, who is currently the CEO of PRISMAX.
PRISMAX is an all-natural, low-sugar sports drink that is sweetened with monk fruit and stevia. It contains only 2 grams of sugar per 16.9 ounce bottle, and is fortified with essential vitamins and electrolytes. Robbie’s journey to creating PRISMAX began when he analyzed the chemical makeup and taste profile of popular sports drinks as part of a school project. He discovered that many sports drinks are high in sugar and low in nutritional value.

PRISMAX has already gained significant traction, with sales at several stores in the South Bay and an informal agreement with Albertsons to carry the drink statewide. “We need capital,” said Juliana Sherwood, the chief operating officer of PRISMAX. “We are looking for angel investors to help us grow the business.”
Robbie’s win at the 2025 Invention Convention has also given him a boost, advancing him to the national competition. “I feel proud,” said Robbie Sherwood. “I’m proving that kids can do stuff that adults can also do.”
As PRISMAX continues to gain momentum, Robbie’s message of health and wellness is inspiring a new generation of young athletes to make informed choices about their health and wellness. “Things are moving,” said Juliana Sherwood. “While he’s still being a child.”
