The new venture in St Andrews, Scotland, is the brainchild of Fraser Smith, the owner of in Dundee, who has teamed up with two Scottish international rugby stars, Zander and Matt Fagerson, to launch Zone.One at St Andrews University.

Located in St Andrews University Sports Centre, Zone.One is open from 7.30am six days a week, offering a wide range of coffee, cakes, and pastries, as well as high-protein meals and smoothies.

The team worked closely with St Andrews University to create a unique offer that meets the needs of students and staff.

Collaboration with Zander and Matt Fagerson

Fraser, who founded EH9 Espresso on Dundee’s Perth Road in 2021, jumped at the chance to open at St Andrews University.

Utilising Zander and Matt’s knowledge of sports nutrition, the Zone.One team worked closely with the university to create a unique offer.

Creating local jobs

Launching three coffee shops before the age of 30 is something Fraser admits he is very proud of.

He added: “For me, it’s never been about getting rich. That’s not an easy thing to do in the hospitality industry right now.
