Malaga midfielder Santi Cazorla: “I understand very well with Isco” – La Liga News

After leading from the front against former side Villarreal, Malaga midfielder, Santi Cazorla, has stated that he has developed good understanding with youngster Isco, while also highlighting the importance of the match.

The two summer signings were devastating in the match as they duly led the Andalusian team to a much warranted victory. Isco starred in the first half against the visitors at La Rosaleda, scoring the winner in the dying moments of the match.

Villarreal gave a good account of themselves after going down a goal as Jeremy Toulalan gave Malaga a goal lead within ten minutes. Ruben Perez scored with the clock ticking 16 minutes to bring the match to parity.

However, after consistent pressure by the Andalusian team, Javier Garrido’s men could not hold their fort and succumbed. Isco broke through the middle and passed to the advancing Rondon.

The Venezuela international took a shot that was saved by the Villarreal goalkeeper, however, fortunately for Los Boquerones it fell straight in the path of Isco, who eased it into the goal.

Following the match, Cazorla stated that he was happy with his team’s ability to learn and to suffer against a tough and complicated opponent like Villarreal. He also stated that the match in opposition to the Yellow Submarine were special for him as he
faced his ex-employers.

“It was a special game for the opponent, for the people I have on this team, but the important thing was to win. We know experience against an opponent hard and complicated.”

The pint sized attacker also reflected on his relationship with players in Malaga squad. He highlighted young attacking midfielder Isco and stated that he has a good understanding with him.

However, he agreed on the diagnosis about Isco, who led the attack like a jellyfish and completed a great performance against Villarreal.

“I understand very well with Isco and he has been one of the players with Willy and with the entire team effort to get the result, “praised Cazorla.

He said that the path to victory was not easy and they were forced to grind out the result.

“We suffered, but in the end we achieved a complete victory in a difficult match,” he said.
