Adrian Sutil, Paul Di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg, ambitious about the 2011 Formula 1 season

Force India’s trio, Adrian Sutil, Paul Di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg, have all expected for a great 2011 season. All of them are pretty much looking forward to the Melbourne Grand Prix and hoping for a good finish for the team.

Force India had a good pre-season testing in Spain where all of their drivers took the car for an outing and bagged some mileage. Although they were a second slower than the pace sitter’s, Red Bull, yet their car was much reliable than many of the champion
teams like McLaren and Mercedes.

Adrian Sutil was very happy with the team’s performance and said, “We did a lot of testing in general and a good deal of tyre work as this is the most important element for us to understand. We have a reliable car, which is positive.” He further cited an
example from last year where he didn’t finish the first Grand prix of the season in Australia, as his car faced a gear-box problem. He also said that the race was interrupted by rain and only ten cars were able to reach the finish line. Sutil stated that the
first target in 2011 will be to at least finish the race in Melbourne thereby securing some points.

Scot Paul Di Resta who will be making his track debut in this season also said that he is looking forward to some point scoring finishes. He added that the cancellation of Bahrain Grand Prix had a negative effect on his concentration as he was anxiously
waiting to get in the car. Paul, who was a junior team mate of Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton, had previously stated that he is anxiously looking to settle things with the former team mates.

The team’s test driver, Nico Hulkenberg, said that despite only having two outings in the new car in the pre-season tests, he has a pretty good understanding of the car. He is also busy working with the engineers to further develop the car.

The weather forecast for Australian Grand Prix is wet and windy, so it will be interesting to see how Sutil and Resta bring the car to the finish line.
