Harbhajan Singh sing confident of India’s success against England

Harbhajan Singh, India’s remarkable key spinner on Tuesday said that his side has the potential to clinch the upcoming series against England, after their successful tour of Caribbean.

India in their recently concluded Windies tour has played only Twenty20, five-match ODI series, and three-match Test series and has enjoyed wins in all. Following this success, the team maintains the top spot in the recent International
Cricket Council (ICC) rankings for Test matches.

In addition, the team retained his second position in the ICC rankings for ODIs after Australia, which is standing at the top.

“From what I have read and heard, there will be a lot of bounce and pace, and that we will get green wickets. We don’t mind, as we know we are capable of winning on any surface,” said Harbhajan.

On the other hand, England in their series against Sri Lanka have also shown a great success as they earned 1-0 victory in the Test series and 3-2 victory in the five-match ODI series. However, in the only Twenty20, tourists were
winners by nine wickets.

“They are a good side and hopefully we will get the results we are looking for,” said Harbhajan

The passionate Harbhajan asserted that they have a side to beat English at their home soil or outside the country and for that they need too maintain right bowling length, regardless of the wicket’s condition.

The spinner asserted that he will make sure to deliver ball according to the plan and will try to pick as many wickets as he could.

“I am not one who sets targets and says ‘I want to take the wicket of a particular batsman’. I am playing against England and I want to take as many wickets as possible. I keep things simple,” explained Harbhajan.

Harbhan has finished the Test series against Windies, with 11 wickets at an average of 25.36, including his best bowling figures of 4/75.

India is expected to take a strong come back in the upcoming England tour, as it will now include the batting icon Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh and Zaheer Khan, who were all missing in the Caribbean
tour.

India plays England in the first Test, scheduled to be started on July 12, 2011.
