New England Patriots thin at safety as Patrick Chung likely to miss games against New York Jets

The New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung is doubtful for their Sunday’s game against the New York Jets despite that he had participated in the practice session on Friday.

He had missed the team for nearly two sessions of the past week due to a foot injury and was back to the practice on Friday. However, he has been listed in the questionables list for the weekend’s New England Patriot’s game against the Jets.

Moreover, the Patriots’ linebackers Brandon Spikes and Dane Fletcher are confirmed out for their weekend game due to knee and thumb injury, respectively. Both players did not join the practice session on Friday and will be sitting outside for the Sunday
game.

In the questionable list there are few other players who are likely to miss out the game against the jets. They included the names of Sebastian Vollmer who is suffering from back injuries. WR Taylor Price who has the hamstring problem is also questionable.

Other players who are suffering multiple injuries included Ryan Wendell who is suffering from concussion, Kyle Arrington with foot injury, BenJarvus Green-Ellis tow, Shaun Ellis rib and Gary Guyton with shoulder injury.

The New England coach Bill Belichick had been watching the Chung closely during the practice session on Friday and also had some conversation with him.

Chung also spoke about his injury on the occasion. He said: “Injuries are a bad thing, being hurt is a different thing, but you have to work to get ready to play the game,” he said.

However, he denied if he was feeling any pressure to return to the side despite that their side has limited options at safety, which currently is quite thin.

“Just working, working to play, working to get out there,” he said. “You have to have the mentality of playing. … Even if you’re hurt, you have to be mentally there, period. You might be called upon.”
