All India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament-2011 starts today.

 

Today, in the early hours of Thursday, Sunil S Lalbhai, Chairman & MD of Atul Ltd inaugurated the event of All India Senior Major Ranking Tournament in a simple opening ceremony. The event though inaugurated simply was very important because all the famous
personalities attached with the tournament and its funding sources were present at the occasion.  Kishore Jalaria who is the President of Olefins & Base Chemicals, Reliance Industries Ltd. Was the Guest of Honor. Similarly, S A Raval who is President of Gujarat
Badminton Association was also present and celebrated the event. Another famous personality and Chief referee of the tournament V Sudhakar also attended the event. Many other dignitaries of Badminton Assosiation of India and officials of Gujarat Badminton
Association were also present to make the ceremony more charming.

 

Before the inauguration ceremony Dr R Vishnoi who is Chairman of Atul Club welcomed all the guests. Venue of the ceremony was decorated with the lights of many colors. Lalbhai while speaking at the event showed great happiness that Atul Club was hosting
this event for second time and it was a thing of great honor for the Club. He further said, “Business is similar to sports; it is not about winning but how well one plays the game, and the values that one holds forth during trying times that makes a winner
out of ordinary people.”  Jalaria also showed his pleasure and said, “Reliance Industries Ltd was proud to be associated with this national tournament and that it would continue to support this in the future.”  The tournament began with Lalbhai declaring the
tournament open. The tournament began with the magic words of Lalbhai that tournament opens.

 

Immediately after the opening ceremony tournament started in a serious way. In the first round of Men’s and Women’s Singles famous players showed their mature strokes to their spectators. In the second round their started a very tough competition between
top ranked players. Saurabh Varma of Madhya Pradesh entered into the second round after defeating Tejas Shah of Gujarat. Similarly, H S Prannoy of Kerala made his entry into the second round after defeating Lakhanee Saarang of Maharashtra. The spark of the
players can be guessed from the number of matches played. Total 16 Men’s Single matches were played in a day.

After men’s Singles there came the turn of Women’s singles which was full of incensed actions. Neha Pandit who is a player of top ranking at national level won her first round after defeating Jui Agaskar of Maharashtra. Savale Gokhale defeated Sazia Khan
of Mazdhya Pradesh. Neha Pandit after winning in her first round. There also she maintained her superiority over Privana Patel of Gujarat with a great difference 21-9, 21-11 and entered into Pre-Quarter Final round. Mohita Saddey of Delhi and Sampada Sahasrabuddhe
were also fortunate to defeat their opponents and won Pre-Quarter Finals.
