Pablo Counago promises to repay George Burley

Crystal Palace striker Pablo Counago has promised to repay manager George Burley for showing him faith and loyalty.

Counago signed a contract with the club over the summer but has not had the impact that many had expected. He has been in and out of the side and has promised to perform for the boss over the next few
weeks.

I’ve had a few problems over the last couple of years with my focus and enthusiasm for football but I am getting it back
here.
I have a great relationship with George and have done since my Ipswich days,” the Spaniard told the Croydon Guardian.

Strikers are often forced to endure long spells out of the side because the majority of managers are willing to drop them after just one or two bad performances. However, Counago
says he owes a lot to Burley for keeping him in and around a healthy and competitive environment.

There are some managers that know how to get the best out of you and it is a great
feeling to be in that environment.
Yes, I would like to have played more but I know the manager has been happy with my attitude in training and he encourages me every
single day,” Counago added.

Counago has also admitted that he cannot rely on the manager’s good nature forever and a lot of the emphasis is on him to start scoring a lot of goals for the team. It’s unsustainable
for Counago to think he has a place in the team just because Burley likes and respects him.

All I can do is keep working hard and making the most of my chances when they come
along,” he said.

Betting advice

The 31-year-old front man has a lot of experience playing in the Championship from his days with Ipswich Town. He is effective at this level so show the same faith as Burley and
back him to score in any game he plays for Crystal Palace. Also back the club to avoid relegation to League One this season.
