Horse Racing: Cork All Star to make a comeback at Cheltenham

The winner of the Weatherbys Champion Bumper of the 2007 racing season, Cork All Star, will be featuring in the prestigious Cheltenham Festival this racing season. Sports analysts are of the view that the talented racehorse could bid a better odd in the
Christie’s Foxhunter Chase.

The nine year old champion was previously reported to be training under the care of trainer Jessica Harrington. Cork All Star did not make an appearance in any horse racing event under rules since the November of 2008. Nonetheless, the colt returned to the
sport in a point-to-point that took place at Cottenham this Sunday.

Talking to the correspondents about the development of Cork All Star, his new trainer, Joanna Quinlan said on Wednesday that the horse has been resting at home at the Swordlestown Stud that is owned by his owner, for more than two years now following his
knee injury. She revealed that the racehorse came to train under her care only six weeks back. She also confirmed that Cork All Star is in perfect form now and she and her team are extremely pleased with the way he has been training.

Discussing Cork All Star’s future racing plans, Joanna Quinlan revealed that the colt will be targeting the open point-to-point for men, which has been scheduled to take place at the end of this month at the Highham racecourse. She further added that apart
from the aforementioned venture the racehorse will be sent out to contend the Hunter Chase that has been announced to kick off at either Fakenham or Huntingdon racecourse.

As a final comment, the enthusiastic trainer said that if Cork All Star qualifies, his connections would want him to feature in the Christie’s Foxhunter Chase, due to take place at Cheltenham while the next choice would be the big hunter chase that has been
planned to be staged at Punchestown racecourse.

On the other hand, the Cheltenham Festival will also be contended by the ten-race unbeaten colt Big Buck’s. His trainer, Paul Nicholls, announced yesterday that the colt will be missing the Betfair Cleeve Hurdle to increase his chances of claiming the Ladbroke’s
World Hurdle for the third time. Nicholls explained that giving Big Buck’s a break before the Cheltenham Festival is a wise decision as it proved to be a success during the 2010 edition of the Grade 1 event.
