MHL Update: KLHC thrash Nur Insafi in Premier Division

Ismail Abu lit the lamp with his go-ahead goal as Kuala Lumpur Hockey Club (KLHC) rallied to whip Nur Insafi, 7-2 at the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Stadium in Ipoh, the city of Malaysia. KLHC despite defeating heavily to Nur Insafi is not satisfied and announced
changes in the team due to poor game in the last match.

It was a fine day in Ipoh but not for the Nur Insafi team which lost its first game of the Premier Division in the ongoing Malaysian Hockey League (MHL). Before this loss, it was the second unbeaten squad after UniKL in the league.

While KL Hockey Club after losing opening game in the hands of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) by 0-2 revved it up impressively and achieved four consecutive victories in the league. KLHC after playing five games is standing at number one position with 12 points
while UniKL is holding the second place with same points due to low margin victories. However, UniKL has had one match left against TNB which could take it at the top.

KLHC in the way to acme defeated Sapura 6-2, overpowered ATM Airod with 3-1, thrashed Yayasan Negeri Sembilan 6-3 and outclassed Nur Insafi, 7-2 in the league. It has marked twenty two goals thus far in the four triumphs while bore only 10 goals.  

The match between KLHC and Nur Insafi was started at very high tone as the gun-striking machines of KLHC began firing in the very start. The defensemen of the Nur Insafi side were getting no way to block the attacks of opponents.

KL Hockey Club made it into the first four minutes and took 2-0 lead. Azlan Misron was the man, who marked first goal of the match through a reverse flicking shot in the 2nd minute. The jubilant feeling of the first score have not been over when
Chua Boon Huat notched second goal of the game and put opponent Nur Insafi under severe pressure.

The early-minute goals of KLHC washed off the game plan of Nur Insafi and they started chasing the score. Only single attacker of Nur Insafi was playing offensive game in the first half.

However, the defensemen of KLHC including S. Shankar and Mohd Razie Abdul Rahim were giving no chance opponents for counterattack.

Shahrun Nabil was booted out from the field in the 30th minute due to sternly time-tackling incident which gave an advantage to Nur Insafi but to no avail. Nur Insafi was playing at very defensive style which was the main cause behind their failure.
 

The second half was more striking than the first as attackers of KLHC set their guns on the target. Legendary drag flicker of India, Baljit Singh marked a goal through a short corner in the 38th minute of the match to put KL Hockey Club ahead
with three-goal lead, 3-0.

KLHC’s Ismail Abu notched a goal from the field in the 45th minute which was answered by two consecutive goals from the Nur Insafi side.

Shabbir Ahmad Khan was the man who scored first goal in the 48th minute followed by Veerachamy Raja’s hit in the 51st minute. The duo players attempted to reduce the lead of KLHC but to no avail as the guns of KLHC were still hurling
the fires.

Huat of KLHC by scoring a goal in the 56th minute dashed the hopes of Nur Insafi for returning into the game and put his team ahead with 5-2. Later on, Azlan Misron marked another goal in the 65th minute followed by a goal of Ismail
Abu in the very next minute and stretched the lead up to five goals. Ismail through a classic flick converted a short corner and sealed the triumph at 7-2. KL Hockey Club is securing the top position and in mulling to take overall victory of the league.
