Yuvraj Singh misses his childhood days

India’s middle order batsman Yuvraj Singh has said that he has worked very hard to become an international cricketer but he misses his childhood days which were full of fun.

Yuvraj is currently leading Pune Warriors in their opening season in the Indian Premier League but unfortunately for the left hander and the Warriors they are not doing very well in the on-going season.

Prolific left handed batsman said that he misses those days when he used to go to school very early in the morning and used to spend the whole day in school studying or playing different sports.

Yuvraj said, “I remember going to school at 6am and returning at 5pm. I spent the day studying and playing sports.”

The left hander faced a torrid time in international cricket since last couple of years and faced a visible decline in form. However, middle order batsman from Punjab bounced back to form in style during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 with both bat and ball.

He played a huge role in India’s successful World Cup campaign and was also named as the Player of the Tournament for his extra-ordinary performances as a middle order batsman and also as a left arm spinner.

While talking about his childhood, Yuvraj said that after returning from school he used to play cricket in his backyard. The left hander said that he broke the helmets of many people riding bikes on the roads and then those guys used to run after him in
anger.

Yuvraj added that he played different sports before his teens but then his father asked him to just concentrate on cricket which turned out to be a great decision.

“Then playing cricket in the backyard and breaking the helmets of guys driving on the road and people chasing us. I played tennis and roller-skating till I was 10-11. Then my dad said that you only have to play cricket,” the left hander added.

He is considered as one of the most stylish batsmen of the world but he is equally destructive at the same time. Indian cricket fans would be hoping that Yuvraj can be more consistent in international cricket as he is a genuine match-winner.
