Liverpool’s Andy Carroll and Charlie Adam aiming for a positive start to the next season – EPL News

Liverpool’s new signings Andy Carroll and Charlie Adam have vowed to give their best next season and are fully committed to help Liverpool to challenge for the Barclays Premier League title next season.

Liverpool endured a below par Barclays Premier League campaign last season. Roy Hodgson was appointed as the Reds after their influential boss Rafael Benitez left the club with the mutual consent last summers. Hodgson miserably failed to produce results
at Anfield as Liverpool endured their worst start of the Premier League campaign in 58 years.

Hodgson was relieved of his post as he became the shortest serving manager in the history of the club. Liverpool legendary player and manager Kenny Dalglish was appointed to replace Roy Hodgson.

The Scotsman- one of the oldest serving member of Liverpool- made an immediate impact at Anfield and steered the Reds in the top half of the table. Dalglish made two big signing in the January transfer window and helped Liverpool to finish sixth in the League
standings.

Liverpool won their last Premier League trophy under Kenny Dalglish in 1989-90 and once again the Scotsman is being tipped to deliver the English title at Anfield.

Dalglish splashed £35 millions and broke the club record transfer fee to sign Andy Carroll from Newcastle United on the very last day of the January 2011 transfer window. The towering English striker was signed to replace Fernando Torres, who joined Chelsea
in the same transfer window.

Carroll was injured when he was signed from Newcastle United and could not make impact at Anfield in the last six months of the recently concluded Barclays Premier League season. The 22-year-old has claimed that he is getting back to full fitness and is
confident to give his best for the Reds next season.

Carroll told the reporters, “It was disappointing since I signed being injured, getting myself back fit. Now I’m getting myself fit I’m looking forward to the start of the season, which should be successful.”

Liverpool recently signed Blackpool’s influential captain Charlie Adam for £8 million. The 26-year-old has vowed to give his best performances for the Reds next season and is confident that Liverpool can challenge for the titles next term.

Charlie Adam, who is currently with Liverpool for the Far-East tour, told the reporters, “I’m hopefully here to help the guys. The way we finished last year, if we can take it into this year we’ll have a good season.”

Liverpool have been most affective in the current summer transfer as Kenny Dalglish is looking to add quality and strength to his current squad in order to mount stronger Barclays Premier League challenge. Despite signing Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll in
the January 2011 transfer window, the Reds have already signed Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam and are close to sign Stewart Downing from Aston Villa.
