Volleyball latest: the 2011 Summer Beach Volleyball Tour starts with Satellite Stop in Argentina

The sands of Dean Funes in Argentina are ready to stage the thrilling beach action as the 2011 Summer Beach Volleyball Tour is about to start at weekend. The season will be kicked off with the first Men’s Satellite Stop, which will be organised by a non-profit
entity, fundacion Crecer Jugando. Located in the city of Cordoba in Dean Funes, Argentina, this organisation works for the development of children. Every now and then, they organise different activities to raise awareness among general public. The Satellite
Stop is a joint venture of Argentine Volleyball Federation and fundacion Crecer Jugando.

The registration for the tournament was closed on Monday, 3rd January, 2011. The tournament will officially start on Friday, January 7 and a total of 31 local teams will take part in the activity. The tournament will be opened with the Qualification
Tournament and it will be followed by the Main Draw stage. Some of the teams have already in the Main-Draw on account of their previous performance and better ranking at national level. Therefore, 22 pairs will be competing at the Qualy to clinch berths in
the Main-Draw.

The duo of José Tejeda and Nicolás Lorenzato earned the Main-Draw slot on a wild card entry, while rest of the 8 teams in the Main-Draw are as followed:

There is a great vibe of excitement among players of Satellite Stop. Since fundacion Crecer Jugando is the main organiser of this tournament, organisation is very much concerned about the success of this campaign. Miguel Quintana, a fundacion Crecer Jugando
official, expressed his views about the upcoming exciting competition. He said: “Our competition is to show the goodness of this region and to capacity of organizing this kind of national events.” He is hopeful that the event will attract people and it will
be successful campaign. He said, “We do not have the budget or the power for tourists other places have but we want to offer our friendship and our strength and we hope no one can overcome our effort”.
