Sebastian Vettel could be my son-in-law: Bernie Ecclestone
Formula 1 President and CEO Bernie Ecclestone, has expressed his desire to see the reigning World Champion, Sebastian Vettel as his son-in-law.
It is commonly known in the Formula 1 world that Ecclestone’s jokes should be taken seriously, and his serious talk could be a joke. His latest statements are being taken as a joke.
The 80-year-old has revealed several times that he is really fond of the youngest World Champion. While talking to the media earlier today, he revealed his admiration for the young German and said he would be happy to become his father-in-law.
Vettel has although been in Formula 1 for the past four years and has competed in only three complete seasons. The driver joined the junior Red Bull owned team, Toro Rosso in 2008 for a full season, ending his debut year in 8th place, without
having a competitive car. Red Bull Racing signed the driver for the next season where he further improved his skills, ending the first season on 2nd place behind 2009 Champion Jenson Button. The 2010 season saw the driver in good form with the fastest
car, the RB6. After a fierce year-long battle, he managed to win the first Championship of his career, becoming the youngest title winner ever in the sport’s history.
Ecclestone believes that the German has got all that it takes to lead a successful career. He stated this morning, “He (Vettel) would be a good son-in-law. He’s funny, normal, he has his goals and is working hard to reach them. I like him very much. I wouldn’t
mind it at all. He should give it a try and ask.”
Ecclestone has two daughters, famous for being ‘bold and beautiful’. The youngest is 22-year-old Petra, a renowned fashion designer for the menswear label ‘Form’. Tamara, the 26-year-old, is a popular model and an active socialist. Reportedly both have boyfriends
and are dating regularly.
Vettel is dating his long-term girlfriend Hanna Prater.
