Negative Publicity – is still “Publicity” after-all
It is well obvious that sports and money go side by side, not to mention the fame and virtue involved. It can’t be put aside that the fame these stars hold could always be taken into false use. But like the stars of Hollywood,
always under the spot-light and Paparazzi following their each and every move, the sport’s stars had also been involved in some sex scandals.
Starting with the National Football League, it was disaster for the fans who had waited for the long speculated come-back, yet to be followed by a scandal that nobody could relate the Green Bay Quarterback Brett Faver with.
The Jets’ super-star was related to a Playboy model and Jets in-house reporter, with the allegation of sending dirty texts and a video of him masturbating while wearing only Crocs. Indeed there was not much going on the footballer’s
mind, thinking it could get him some action outside the field. She was not the only target, as Faver attempted sexual harassment on two of the massage therapists for the club, yet all he could get was a narrow escape with fines and luckily no suspension.
Another pathetic news to bust the image of NFL, and more likely the Vikings back in their down-stream season 2005. The Vikings were not much into luck at that time as they lost their key star, Randy Moss and their star quarter-back;
Dante Culpepper had an injury for which he had to stay out of the game. Vikings suffered a lot with a weak 2 – 5 start, but this was not the news.
The players, lead by Culpepper himself, made arrangements of their own to forget this misery. The team was found on a boat where they flew with high caliber prostitutes to launch an orgy of their own. Four players had to face the
consequences of the orgy being charged for delinquency, but they finished the season with a strong 9 – 7 record.
Another known star from the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League, the quarter-back, Michael Vick was charged with dog fighting and had to spend 21 months in prison, filed impoverishment.
Still, this was not the hot news for this star athlete. Soon after the charges, Vick was convicted of infecting one of his ex-girlfriends, Sonya Elliott, with herpes. Although Vick still plays for the Philadelphia Eagles in great
form, but Elliott said otherwise. She said Vick was well aware of his disease and had been tested for it under the alias Ron Mexico, but the blame is still publicly indecisive.
Golf is considered one of the boring sports, a very slow game often related with dull people. The athletes are not the hunks or under the category of fashion trend-setters, polite and gentle, consider the name as Tiger Woods.
Tiger Woods is perhaps the name everybody is familiar with, even if they don’t have an interest in Golf. He had stardom, married to a beautiful fashion model and had two sweet kids. The life seemed to be ideal in all aspects.
Prior to February 2010, not too many knew about his sexual relations with not one or two women beside his wife, but dozens of them. The scandal was finally busted with a new woman coming forward as his bed-partner every week. Indeed
a pathetic blow to such an elite image, ruining his life, his wife, his endorsements and a whole lot of golf for the golfer in 2010.
Talking about the sleezeball athletes outside the United States, a well known footballer form across the ocean, Wayne Rooney comes in the news. Rooney’s girlfriend was five-months pregnant with his child when he cheated on his
childhood sweetheart by doing the dirty deed.
Even more ironic, the Manchester United star had hired his lady friend for the foul deed, maybe that only because his fame couldn’t overcome his looks.
