The Lehighton Area School District has secured a five-year agreement with Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) to provide comprehensive athletic training and health services for students, faculty, and staff. This extension solidifies the districts commitment to student wellness and reinforces its partnership with a leading health care provider.

The district will benefit from a range of services designed to enhance athletic performance, health, and wellness, including:

• Behavioral health services
• School physician support
• Health care career pathway programs

These services are designed to support the district’s athletic teams and promote overall student wellness. The partnership will also include access to LVHN’s experienced team of healthcare professionals, who will provide medical support, including:

The district will also benefit from LVHN’s commitment to providing free pre-participation physical exams three times a year, baseline and post-injury concussion testing, CPR/AED and first aid certification for athletics staff, and strength and conditioning software.

These services will be made available to the district at no added cost.

• Weller Center for Health Education
• Programs focused on mental health, nutrition, fitness, drug and alcohol prevention, and bullying

The Weller Center for Health Education will offer evidence-based programs to promote student wellness. The district will also benefit from LVHN’s commitment to providing expanded opportunities for students interested in healthcare careers. This includes:

• Curriculum support, lab experiences, internships, externships, and guaranteed interview opportunities
• Tuition support for students pursuing degrees in high-need medical professions

LVHN will provide these opportunities to support the district’s commitment to healthcare education. The partnership will also include significant financial contributions from LVHN, totaling over $590,000 over the five-year period. These contributions will be used to support marketing, campus improvements, student scholarships, athletic training supplies, and emergency medical services.
