Germany Vs Azerbaijan: Euro 2012 Match Preview

Germany will clash with Azerbaijan in the Euro 2012 Qualification match at Baku on Tuesday. Germany will have their targets set in their minds, as a victory over bottom placed Azerbaijan will help them seal a place in the Euro 2012.

Germany have been in very lethal form of late, as they are placed right on the top of the Group A table after winning all of their previous six encounters in the campaign.  On the other hand, it has been a continuous struggle for Azerbaijan as they are relishing
at the bottom of the table with only victory from their five matches.

Joachim Loew’s men must be feeling confident about their chances as their confidence levels reached skies high after they beaten Austria 2-1 in their last Euro 2012 fixture played on June 03. On the very same day, Azerbaijan were put under hammers by Kazakhstan
and lost that match by a narrow 2-1 margin.

Germany’s strong attacking line will pose the biggest threat to Azerbaijan’s chance, as they had already plundered staggering 19 goals in the competition compared to two goals scored against them. On the other side, Bergi Vogt’s have a negative goal difference
of 11 goals, after conceding 15 and scoring only four goals.

Team News

It has been confirmed by the insider sources that Sami Khedira and Simon Rolfes have been ruled out of the match after failing to recover fully. Khedira seems to be going through a pain of calf injury due to which he has to content with a seat on the sideline
benches.

 Speaking on the matter of Khedira’s injury, Loew said, “He has in the past two to three weeks made every effort to be ready for the crucial game against Austria. There were no major problems, the injured muscle is fine, but we do not want a risk, and so
we have decided in consultation with him and the doctors that he will not play.”

According to the latest reports, Loew could give the Under-21 sensation Sebastian Rudy his first cap for Germany with Toni Kroos are also likely to be included in the final eleven. Toni Kroos is highly likely to be included after key midfield players of
Germany have been ruled out from the match. Christian Trasch, Sven Bender and Bastian Schweinsteiger will miss out for Germany.

Azerbaijan will be a relieved side when it comes to have more fit players sitting on the bench. Javid Huseynov will be replaced by Vugar Nadyrov in the final eleven.
