Feyenoord Rotterdam coach Ronald Koeman praised Otman Bakkal’s performance – Dutch Eredivisie news

Feyenoord Rotterdam manager, Ronald Koeman, was extremely delighted with his side’s performance in the 3-1 win over NAC Breda at Rat Verlegh Stadion on Sunday, September 11. The Dutch trainer praised his side’s performance on the pitch and especially the
performance of debutant Otman Bakkal, who arrived at De Kuip Stadion on a season-long loan deal from PSV Eindhoven.

The 26-year-old started his professional career at PSV in the 2003/04 season and has so far represented the Boeren in well over 100 appearances. However, the attacking midfielder has been regularly sent on a season-long loan deal, as the Dutch International
has represented Den Bosch, FC Eindhoven and FC Twente Enschede earlier on loan.

The attacking midfielder played an important part in securing maximum points for the Rotterdam giants, as his side started the match poorly against NAC and conceded an early goal. However, things dramatically changed following the 37th minute
equaliser from Bakkal and the Rotterdam giants started to dominate proceedings on the pitch.

Koeman revealed that the midfield ace performed impressively in his debut match and admitted that his side will certainly benefit from the 26-year-old’s experience.

“Bakkal played very well. He was one of the few players who was in the game in the first half. He made the right choices and scored an important goal. His experience, which includes Champions League level, is very important to this team”, Koeman said while
talking to the media.

The vastly experienced tactician then went on to admit that his side staged a poor show in the opening 45 minutes and let NAC dominate proceedings on the pitch. However, he revealed that his side outplayed the home side in the second-half and secured all
three points deservingly.

“It was our worst half of the season. We were far too sloppy and that helped NAC get into the game. In the second half we played the way I want to see. We dominated the ball and I think deserved the victory on the basis of the second half”, Koeman concluded.

The tactician would be hoping that Bakkal continues to perform on the pitch impressively and play an important part in achieving good results for Feyenoord.
