World number one Luke Donald was upset on the decition to delay the votings on the title he won of PGA tour Player of the year award.
The tour players were expecting to receive the ballot paper this week but the voting process was postponded because the organiser wanted the WGC-HSBC Champions event in Shangfai to be held first and then all the other issues to be delt with.
Donald who had won the Disney event in Florida on Sunday this week. He captured the title with an extraordinary back nine performance. He was expected to fulfill his duties by winning the PGA tour money list. The decision was not accepcted by everyone.
“Why suddenly change the rule the day after Disney? It doesn’t make much sense to me,” Donald told the Golf Channel in the US.
Officials were informed that the Shanghai event is about to come in next few days because of which the voting process was delayed. The delay ws one of the reasons that created disputes between the golfers
Donald’s wife is pregnant and would give birth to his second child. This might be the reason that Donald would like to stay back home with his family instead of playing golf as te tournament is expected to start on 4th November 2011.
All the three players Nick Watney, Webb Simpson and keegan Bradley have a chance to win their third PGA Tour victory, however it wont be easy for them because the tournament is full of golfers with well respect past records which makes the competition much
tougher.
“I think the decision to add HSBC is a little sketchy,” Donald added.
On the other hand Garcia leads Spanish charge at Andalucia Masters, Sergio Carcia wishes to become the first Spaniard to win the Andalucia Masters but it wont be easy for him as he would be competing with the defending champion Graeme McDowell who is the
favourite of the tournament.
After a very hard work of three years Garcia was able to win by 11-shot in the Castello Masters. He is the only 23 year old Spanish to have achieve such goals.
Volvo Masters was first held in the year 1988, Since then there have been twenty European Tour events at Valderrama but unfortunaly no spanish was able to win the tournament thats why the fans are expecting alot from Garcia as their only hope.
Last year McDowell won by two-shot which was hard for many to believe as McDowell was the underdog of the game and his victory stunned the crowd.
Standing Second in 2008 kaymer the German player is struggling to get his first victory after January. His presence would put pressure on his competitors specially the world number one Luke Donald, Bjorn would be another golfer who requires attention of
his fellow golfers as he has won three tournaments this season, similarly Manassero’s first win came in Spain last year.
