Zlatan Ibrahimovic urges Mario Balotelli to join AC Milan

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic says that he would love for Manchester City attacker Mario Balotelli to join him at the Serie A giants.

Balotelli has only made five appearances since moving to City from Milan’s fierce rivals Inter over the summer, due to injury and suspension. However, the 20-year-old has netted three times for the the Citizens already to boost his reputation as one of the
hottest young forwards in Europe.

The attacker helped Inter to win an historic treble of the Scudetto, Italian Cup and UEFA Champions League last season, but Ibra is hopeful that Balotelli will eventually join Milan ― the club the Italian international supports.

Despite having been at City for a short period of time, Balotelli has been linked with a move to Milan on several occasions over the last few months and despite claims by both City and Milan officials that such a transfer will not take place in the near
future, Ibra has his fingers crossed that he will one daybe able to play alongside Balotelli.

Sweden forward Ibra ― who is on loan at Milan from Spanish giants Barcelona and also played for Inter ― told Chi magazine: “Mario is a great footballer and he has shown he is intelligent, it would be nice for us to play together again. Milan is a fantastic
club from every aspect and everyone puts heart and soul into their work. I am honoured to be part of this group and Milan could be my last club.”

Balotelli was at Inter for four years from 2006 after making the switch from Italian lower-league side Lumezzane. During his time there, he scored 28 goals in 86 first-team appearances and created 14 assists. In addition to the treble-winning 2009-10 campaign,
Balotelli earned a further two Serie A winners’ medals and won the Italian Supercup in 2008.
