Wayne Rooney is confident to Knock-off Marseille to secure a Champions League Quarter-final place

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is self assured that they would give hard pounding to the French club ‘Marseille’ on Tuesday night at Old Trafford to make their way into the UEFA Champions League Quarter-final. Manchester
United’s is looking forward to welcome Marseille at their home soil to give them the exit pass from the Champions League competition  and to go through into the last-eight teams  for the fifth consecutive year in a row.

Manchester United’s confidence is over the moon after denting Arsenal badly in the FA Cup quarter finals. On Saturday night at Wembley stadium, Alex Ferguson’s team successfully holds on to their nerves as they have thrashed Arsenal
by a convincing 2-0 margin with the help of Robin Ven Dar Sar’s resilience. Due to his excellent performance, he was also given the man of the match award.

The 25-year-old England International has claimed that the win over Arsenal has not only boosted their morale but also has reinforced their confidence which was badly dented due to last two defeats against Liverpool and Chelsea.

Rooney believes the win over Gunners would do world of good to his team as he said “It is great preparation for Marseille. After two defeats this was always going to be a difficult game, to beat Arsenal in such a big game is a
great result for us. Now we need to go home and rest and make sure we prepare properly for Marseille. It’s a massive game for us and we need to make sure we get the job done.”

Wayne Rooney has been quite extraordinary in the last eight games by netting six goals. United’s latest win over Arsene Wenger’s team is enough to make them the favourites to go through into the next round of Champions League.

Although, Alex Ferguson’s team is still holding on to the first position in the Premier league table, but they have faced a terror time in the past week by receiving shameful defeats from Liverpool and Chelsea which have somehow
dented their confidence. For, Manchester United to qualify for the last-eight teams they need to win with at least of 1-0 margin which will surely put them into top four teams of the Champions League competition.

Van Der Sar, who is believed to be playing his last English Premier League season, was the one man who stood up brilliantly in Arsenal’s way to score goals. Wayne Rooney was there to applaud his performance by saying “He is the
best goalkeeper in the world. He’s such a great goalkeeper and despite the age he’s at now, for me he’s still the best in the world.”Manchester United’s goalkeeper is again expected to take Manchester United over the victory against Marseille.
