The 4th Arunachal State Games 2025 kicked off with a grand opening ceremony at the Golden Jubilee Stadium in Yupia, Papum Pare district. Chief Minister Pema Khandu inaugurated the event, assuring the state’s athletes that the government is committed to providing all necessary facilities to help them excel in their chosen fields at national and international levels. • Key features of the government’s ‘Mission Olympics’ initiative include:

Arunachal Pradesh has witnessed significant progress in sports over the years, with its athletes consistently performing well at national events. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of sports infrastructure in developing sportspersons’ talents. “Hosting the 77th Santosh Trophy finals at this ground marked a significant step forward in our sports history. We are now going to host the South Asian Football Federation U-19 Championship 2025 next month,” he said. A new world-class stadium with a capacity of 25,000 will soon be built within the state capital. “We have already identified the site, and construction will begin soon,” CM Khandu stated. The 4th Arunachal State Games 2025 will run until 22nd April 2025, with various events taking place across the state. The event is expected to promote sports in the region and provide opportunities for athletes to showcase their skills.

“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the athletes from across the state for their hard work and dedication. It’s not just about winning medals; it’s about developing sportspersons who can make a positive impact on our society.”

CM Khandu also commended the efforts of the Arunachal Olympic Association (AOA) and the state government in promoting sports in the region. He expressed his wish that the state would continue to be at the forefront of sports development in the country. “I hope that our young sportspersons will continue to make us proud and take our state to new heights in the world of sports.”
The opening ceremony was attended by several high-profile guests, including Olympic Bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain from Assam, Sports Minister Kento Jini, and Arunachal Olympic Association (AOA) President Taba Tedir.
