Serie A Update: Udinese Calcio striker Alexis Sanchez on Inter Milan radar
Inter Milan president, Massimo Moratti, has expressed his desire to see the Udinese Calcio striker, Alexis Sanchez, wearing a Nerazzurri jersey. The President has revealed that he will attempt to sign the hitman at the end of the 2010/11 season. Sanchez
has been the highlight of the Serie A this year, and his outstanding form has been noticed throughout Europe.
Moratti, talking to the media recently, expressed his admiration for the striker and said that Sanchez has transformed into mature and professional player during his stay at the Udinese. The Nerazzurri President said:
“Alexis Sanchez really is a fantastic player. That was already clear to see a few years ago. Udinese have done a very good job to help him develop into an even better player. That will be very important for them both from an economic and sportive point of
view. He’s the type of player that makes you dream.”
Udinese paid 3 million dollars to the Chilean outfit, Cobreloa, in 2006 to acquire Sanchez who was only 17 years old then. However, the Italians opted to let the striker stay in his native country so that Sanchez could groom himself into a more professional
footballer. The striker spent 2 years on loan before he finally joined the Nerazzurri in Italy.
The Chile International made his debut for the Zebras in a 3-0 victory against Bassano Virtus on 27th July, 2008. Ever since his debut, Sanchez has continued to impress the club and the fans alike, attracting attention from the biggest names in
club football. In 90 appearances, the player has managed to score a modest 20 goals, with 4 of those coming in the recent 7-0 demolition of US Palermo.
Sanchez has recently expressed his willingness to continue with his current club and said that he is not looking for a transfer at the moment. In spite of the player willing to stay with the Zebrette, Sanchez is expected to move to a bigger club should one
of the Europe’s Elite come calling. Apart from Inter Milan, Sanchez is also reportedly being tracked by Juventus, Chelsea, Barcelona and Manchester United.
