Rafael Van der Vaart wants to end his career at Hotspur

The former Real Madrid midfielder spent a lot of time warming the bench of the Los Blancos in Spain. Rafael Van der Vaart has finally started playing first team football in the Premier League club and looks satisfied with not only his performance but the
performance of the whole team. Tottenham Hotspur are an English side competing in Europe and that is a place for any big player and definitely the Dutch midfielder is enjoying his time in the North London club.

Rafael Van der Vaart was a second choice midfielder for the Spanish Giants Real Madrid. The Los Blancos are famous for buying the best players in the market and definitely the Dutch midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart was one of them. Back in his days with Ajax,
he was considered to be one of the best midfielders in the world and later he was bought by the Spanish side but he barely represented them as a first team player. His fellow Dutch team mates Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben suffered with the same fate and
definitely they found it hard to find first team football in Real Madrid.

Sneijder went on to join Inter Milan where he became their key midfielder and helped the Italian side win the scudetto for the first time in the history. Arjen Robben joined the German side Bayern Munich where he became a lethal weapon. The left footed right
winger simply found a way to score goals and took his reputation of a “glass man” along as he found the back of the net more often and even got sidelined for a few weeks due to his injury problems. Later, Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben played the final match
of the UEFA Champions League against each other and ironically the stadium that hosted the final match of the European competition was the home of Real Madrid, the Santiago Bernabeu. What better way to slap a former club that thought that you were of no use
to them?

Rafael Van der Vaart was also left useless on the bench of Real Madrid especially with the likes of Ricardo Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso and Lasana Diarra. There was definitely no place for him in the first team of the Los Blancos and that is the
reason why they sold him out for 9 million Euros “only.” With a price this low, Rafael Van der Vaart joined Tottenham Hotspur almost for free. What he provides to the team is simply priceless as he suits perfectly into Harry Redknapp’s 4-2-4 formation.

In recent news, the Dutch star has shown desire to end his career in the English club. The 27-year old midfielder is getting a lot of first team football in the Premier League football and he is currently enjoying great form. His statics in the Premier League
club are simply extraordinary. Whenever he found the back of the net for Harry Redknapp’s side, the team has won the game. He is definitely a player who the English manager was looking for as Luca Modric and Rafael Van der Vaart are simply ballistic when it
comes to attacking football – the style of play Hotspur have adapted recently.

The Dutch star quoted:

“I love it here. I love the players and I love the down-to-earth attitude at the club,”

“If I have the opportunity, I would stay here for the rest of my career.”

It simply sums up how he wants to play football where he is loved and where he is acknowledged for his achievements. Rafael Van der Vaart is definitely home and deserves a club like Tottenham Hotspur who never back out from any sort of competition.
