Players To Keep An Eye On In 2011 – Part 1

It is a known fact that players work their magic to the best of their skills in the leagues that they play in; some of them finish at the very top where as some fail to make the best out of them in the season that follows.

There are a number of players to keep an eye out for, from the old players improving drastically or the new talented youngsters that are working hard to get a chance to prove them.

So here is a list of the top ten players to follow in the coming year:

1. Didier Drogba

At the very top right now is the Blues star striker Didier Drogba, the thirty two year old Ivory Coast striker seems to have performed better than ever this season.

He has already scored eight goals in the 2010-11 season so far, he has also given his team six assists and brought Chelsea where they are right now.

This player started his professional youth career with Levallolis in 1996 then after a year moved to Le Mans youth club only to be promoted to play in the first squad ranks in the year after that.

He made sixty four appearances for Le Mans with scoring twelve goals from 1998 to 2002, and then he made a move to Guingamp in 2002 and made forty five appearances with twenty goals scored in the process.

It was only in the summer of 2003 that he made yet another move and this time to Marseille where he had another one year spell and made thirty five appearances with netting the ball nineteen times.

Finally he made his last move in 2004 to the English Premier League and further to Stamford Bridge.

Since then this player has been a star attraction in the squad and despite his age that is way above the average age of forwards in the Premiership he is still going strong and only seems to get better with time.

Didier Drogba has thus far made a hundred and eighty two appearances for the Blues with having scored ninety one goals in the process.

The player has also been a part of the Ivory Coast national team since 2002 making appearances 2006 and 2010 World Cup. He is also a regular at the African Cup of nations his total for appearances made for country go up to seventy one and he has netted the
ball forty five times.

The fact of the matter remains that this player still needs some help from his team mates if he wants to finish the season as one of the top scorers of the English Premier League.

He has been giving exemplary performances both in the Premiership and the Champions League fixtures. The Blues are in the running as the fourth ranked club in the English Premier League with having made thirty one point under them.

The next UEFA Champions League fixture that Chelsea is going to see is in the league round of sixteen against FC Kobenhaven and the Ivory Coast gun is hoped to work his charm there as well to make this another Chelsea win.

2. Florent Malouda

Another player that makes this list is the Blues left winger Florent Malouda, he is also one of Carlo Ancelotti’s favorites that he always seems to use in a match plus the best point is that this French man seems to fit in perfectly with the Ivory Coast
Didier Drogba in the attack.
