China filling their bags with gold as they won 20 gold medals at the China Para Table Tennis Championship
China Para Table Tennis Championships were expected to be intense as it was the factor 40 event for World Ranking; Most of the leading players were looking forward to show their best and were focussing for the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
Ge Yan, Liu Jing, Yang Qian and Li Qian all won the gold medals at China Para Table Tennis as the tournament concluded.
China the tournament right from the word go in their home as Feng Peng won Men’s Singles for Class 3 and he tagged with Zhao Ping to win the gold in class three Men’s Team event. Zhao Ping also won the bronze medal in Men’s class 3 single events as Kim Jim
Sung of Korea defeated him in the semi finals. Kim Jim made an easy way for Korea towards the gold medal before he was defeated by Feng Panfeng who won in three straight sets as he won the first position for China.
Fang Panfeng and Ge Yang both won two titles each. Ge Yang has earned the reputation of the most successful Paralympic Table Tennis player.
He received the gold medals in 2008 Beijing Games in Men’s Singles and Men’s Team events and repeated his performance in 2010 at the Asian Para Games in Men’s Singles and Men’s Team events.
He teamed up with Lian Ho to win Men’s Team success in Beijing and was finally beaten by David Jacob’s in the semi final.
David Jacob’s had to face the defeat from the hands of Ge Yang as he defeated him in the Men’s Singles final at the 2011 China Para Table Tennis Open.
Gu Cai and Zhang Biang won the Women’s Class 5 title, Yang Qiang with Fan Lei won the class 9-10 women’s team events and Yang Qiang won the gold medal in class 10 women’s singles.
China bagged 20 gold medals in total out of 29 as they won all five women’s titles, four Men’s Team, five Men’s Singles and seven out of the eight Women’s Singles titles. Korea won 4 gold medals; Ukraine won’t two while Thailand, Germany and Netherlands
won one gold medal each.
