player is currently playing for Hoffe on loan until the end of the ongoing season.
Van Gaal appreciates the young talent and wishes to bring him back to FCB, but not until the midfielder earns more experience playing for the Hoffenheim first team. then he earned spending much time on the side-lines.
“David Alaba is definitely a great talent. This is why I think we are going to make him come back. However, this may not take place this summer. He did not really get much action in the first team with us. This is what he is getting at Hoffenheim. This will
aid his development massively.”
Alaba started his youth career at the age of 10 with Austria Vienna in 2002. He made his presence known on the field and in the same year, he made his way to the Bundesliga outfit, Bayern Munich. Initially playing for the U-17 and U-19 teams at Die Roten,
the left-back soon earned a promotion to the reserve team and made his first appearance in the third division game against Dynamo Dresden.
The Austria international was listed on the first team in February 2010, along with two other youngsters, Diego Contento and Mehmet Ekici, coming alongside him from the reserve team. Alaba was not getting enough attention and exposure at Die Roten as he
was mostly used as a late substitute. The youngster was loaned out to Hoffenheim in the recently concluded January transfer window after failing to cement a steady role in the first team.
Hoffe has given the Austrian international the exposure he needed and the midfielder is getting some much needed playing time that will evolve him into a mature footballer. Alaba has made 3 appearances for Hoffe this term and has scored a very useful goal
against St. Pauli. Hoffenheim were hosts to St. Pauli when they nearly lost the game to the visitors, but the youngster fired a deflected effort at the death to draw the game, earning an important point for his club.
The Die Roten left-back has been an important signing for Hoffe this transfer window giving them opportunities to experiment with their side. Die Bayern are expected to bring the versatile youngster back in the next year’s January transfer window.
