Ball State University suffer a loss to Ohio State University 3-1 in a Midwestern Volleyball Association match played on Friday at the St. John Arena

Ball State University contested against Ohio State University in a Midwestern Volleyball Association match that took place on Friday. The match that took on a thrilling tine for the spectators went on till four sets and ended in a Buckeye win. While the
Ball State team was leaving the courts of the St. John Arena with big smiles on their faces and the Cardinals were shaking their heads in disappointment, the score board was displaying final set scores of 25-21, 25-18, 15-25, 25-22 in favor of the Buckeyes.

With their recent win, Ohio State has further glorified their already commendable overall season record. The number four ranking Buckeyes have now tallied wins that equal to 15 in this season so far. These have been secured at the cost of losing only two
matches.  Their MIVA record has been equally impressive. The Buckeyes have been able to bag a total number of eight victories while they have suffered no defeat as yet. In contrast to this, the Cardinals, have been able to scrap off ten wins in this season
while losing seven matches. Ball State has not been able to perform too well in MIVA as the losses they have incurred amount to more than the victories that the Cardinals have achieved. In MIVA, the record of the Cardinals shows three wins and four losses.

The match played on Friday has put a stop to the four match winning streak of the Cardinals. However, it has enabled the Buckeyes to further stretch their winning streak to 15 wins in a row.

The opening set of the match was more like a tug of war between the two teams. For a long time, neither the Buckeyes nor the Cardinals let the other take control of the game. In a competitive display of volleyball skill, the match reached a tie at 14-14.
However, the Buckeyes finally managed to overcome the block by scoring the next three points. But the Cardinals did not give up the chase and kept up close to the Buckeyes at 17-16 and 19-18. But the challenge Ball State posed was not enough to make the Buckeyes
stop from charging on ahead   towards a first set win at 25-21.

The second set of the game started off in the same way as the first. No team was letting the other move significantly ahead to establish its dominance. Eventually, Ball State managed to get the lead at 14-10 but Ohio State did not let the Cardinals enjoy
for long and tied the match at 16-16. Later, the Buckeyes made a 7-0 run that gave them the second set at 25-18.

With two sets down, the Cardinals seemed determined to get the third victory. They were able to achieve this at 25-15. However, the effort came too late from the Cardinals and the Buckeyes were already at the top of their game. Therefore, Ohio State remained
successful in bagging the fourth set of the match at 25-22.

Next in line for Ohio State is a match against Princeton on Saturday night.
