Ahmad Tajuddin optimistic for MHL Premier Division

A legendary name in the Kuala Lumpur Hockey Club (KLHC), Tengku Ahmad Tajuddin is quite optimistic to deliver an optimum performance in the Premier Division of the Malaysian Hockey League (MHL).

Ahmad, who is considered one of the most proficient strikers of Malaysia, is contesting the MHL with Team Kula Lumpur Hockey Club. However he failed to deliver productive game in the Charity Shield Match against Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and received
a defeat with 0-2.

The renowned striker, who marked eleven goals in the last edition of the MHL, is facing severe pressure from the team’s fans regarding the upcoming matches against Sapura and Yayasan Negri Sembilan (YNS), the title holders of the league.

Ahmad, while talking to the media, said that the crucial matches of the league were lying ahead as they could not afford any further defeat in the event. He said, “It’s like do-or-die for us as we cannot afford to drop points in these two matches. As the
defending league champions, the pressure will definitely be on us.”

He, in an aspiring state, expressed that they would surely deliver an optimum game in a bid to move them forward for the next round.

Commenting over the opening match of the league, the attacker said that it was a bad start and he could not mark any score against TNB. He further stated that they had acquired all the nine group matches in the last edition of the MHL; however this time
luck was not with them and they could not win even the first game.

Ahmad was of the view that the other forwards including fabled Azlan Misron, Mohd Amerullah Aziz Ismail Abu and Chua Boon Huat were also failed to deliver in the beginning game. Azlan was one of the best players in the Asian Games where he marked six goals
and played significant role to lead the Malaysian team into the finals of the tournament.

The 28-years-old, Ahmad made his debut into the Malaysian Hockey League back in 2002 for the Sapura side. Later on he joined the Ernst, which turned into Kuala Lumpur Hockey Club (KLHC).

The magnificent striker further said, “A win will put us back on track for the league title. But a defeat will make it difficult for us to retain the title. It will also be a challenge to play really well in two matches in three days.”

Ahmad uttered hopes saying that they would put extra efforts to win the game against Sapura, which has had prominent names including Rehan Butt of Pakistan, S. Kuhan, Mohd Nasihin Nubli and Jiwa Mohan.
