Adriana praises the brilliant performance of homies

The two time world champion, Adriana Behar of Brazil was one of the biggest supporters of Brazilian beach volleyball teams at the 2011 Brasilia Open. The SWATCH FIVB Opener successfully completed its run from April 17-23. Throughout the campaign, Adriana
backed-up the home duos and encouraged them to catch the spotlight. She regularly posted healthy comments on her blog.

In the women’s division, everybody’s attention was focused on top-seeded pairing of Juliana Felisberta Silva and Larissa Franca. The dynamic duo didn’t fail to impress and achieved enormous success at the first home event of regular beach volleyball season.
They were challenged by equally proficient and rather more experienced duo of American Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh. The hosts turned many heads around with their spectacular performance and held off American opponents for gold-medal victory in the final
showdown.

Adriana was simply overjoyed with the impressive act of Juliana and Larissa. She congratulated them and appreciated their great effort. Following their match victory, Adriana posted her comments on the FIVB blog. She stated: “All I can say is wow! What a
start to the season. Larissa and Juliana pulled off an amazing win in the women’s final against Kerri and Misty. It was three sets of intense beach volleyball in what was an amazing atmosphere.”

At the same time, Adriana praised the American duo for their outstanding performance. May-Treanor and Walsh reunited this year after a long break of more than two years. They had last competed together at the 2008 Olympics. Adriana said: “Kerri and Misty
were incredible. To come back as a team after so long away and immediately jump into fourth gear is a testament to the character and believe of both individuals. They’re not two-time Olympic champions for nothing.”

Adrian also had her views about the upcoming SWATCH FIVB World Tour Events. She said that Brasilia Open will serve as warm for the Juliana and Larissa. They will surely grab more success in rest of the competitions.

Likewise, Adriana had urged the men’s duos to catch the limelight. The Brazilian duo of Alison Cerutti and Emanuel Rego put up a great effort clawed their way to fine match. They cross their ways with the top-seeded tandem of Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers
of America. The hosts fought bravely but couldn’t avoid the chances of defeat. The Brazilian had to be content with the silver-ware. Anyhow, they can surely climb up the top slot in coming events.
