ADCB rallies past Estee Lauder Polo Team in Pink Polo Charity Match: 5-3

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) displayed a fantastic game, emerging winner over Estee Lauder Polo Team, in the Pink Polo Charity Match that took place at the Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club, in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Pink Polo Charity Match was organised by Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club in collaboration with Health Authority Abu Dhabi to create awareness about the breast cancer disease.

Carrie McNeil founded the Pink Polo back in 2010 with aiming to aware the people about early diagnosis of the disease.

It is vital to mention here that breast cancer is most frequently diagnosing cancer in the country. Moreover, this disease is ‘second-biggest killer’ of women in UAE.

According to medical experts, 98 per cent of breast cancer victims will survive if the disease is identified and got treated in the initial stages.

However, only 30 per cent patients of this disease are diagnosed in the initial levels in the country.

McNeill while speaking to the media at the occasion said that she was truly pleased by the levels of support Pink Polo received in the country.

She observed, “The whole community has really embraced this event in its second year and I would like to thank everybody involved for their hard work in making this year’s Pink Polo event even bigger and better than last year’s launch”.

She anticipated that the message of Pink Polo about the early diagnosis of breast cancer and its treatment went out into the society.

Chief Marketing Officer of ADCB, Martin Scott, also expressed flatters over the victory they earned against Estee Lauder Polo Team.

He applauded the games of Emirati players including the Bin Desmal brothers and their teammate, Oscar Colombres of Argentina, who played a good polo.

He added, “We may have won the match, but we hope that the real winner today is the fight against breast cancer and the message that Pink Polo sends to the people of the UAE”.

Ahmed Bin Desmal, the ADCB player, while speaking to reporters said that the match according to their expectations turned out to be a competitive show. He, however, expressed pleasures after emerging victorious in the charity fixture.

Tariq Bin Desmal and Abdullah Ben Desmal marked a single goal each while their Argentinean teammate, Oscar Colombres, added three in the fixture.

From the other side, Mattar Al Yabhouni, scored two times and his teammate, Naser Al Dhari, lit the lamp once in the significant match.

ADCB Polo Team won the match at 5-3.

Many notable people including Sheikh Sultan Bin Falah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Nuaimi and Director General Dubai Health Authority, Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid witnessed the match.

Irrespective of the winning and the losing teams, it was the message that should be spread in every part of the country.
