Sri Lankan Captain, Kumar Sangakkara has said that Indian Captain M S Dhoni is a very intelligent individual. The World Cup is finally over and it was India which ended up as winners of this mega competition. It was an entertaining
world cup and spectators were fortunate enough to see some nailbiting games being played in the competition. The final four Matches were interesting and teams like New Zealand and Pakistan made the semi-finals worth it.

India were simply awesome in the final and worked on little irritants to come out as unbeatable. Sri Lanka also played positively in the final and batted well to make it to 274 in their innings. This meant that India would have to carry out the highest run
chase in a World Cup final. The total in the end did not prove to be enough as India managed to reach the required total in the 48th over.

Kumara Sangakkara praised the Indian batting and said “when you have such an awesome batting lineup, even 300 is not enough”. India’s batting depth was on display in Saturday’s final when Gautam Gambhir and M.S Dhoni batted superbly and took India out of
murky waters after they lost quick wickets.

The target at one time looked difficult for the Indian’s but the way the Indian batsmen approached the total showed the depth and technique of their batsmen. Sangakkara further applauded the batting of the Indians and said “Their batting is unbelievable,
best in ODI cricket, MS is very intelligent, very smart”. Though batting was the main feature of the India’s performance but one cannot overlook the way Dhoni led his men. He led from the front and every thing he touched turned to gold.

Dhoni’s planning was impeccable. He made the right bowling changes at crucial stages of the game and was even better as a batsman. His responsible yet aggressive 91 not out took India home. He was ably assisted by Gautam Ghambir who played a crucial role
with the bat, scoring 97, and contributed two vital partnerships in the Match.
