Kemar Andre Jamal Roach was born on 30th June, 1988 at St, Lucy, Barbados, a right-arm fast bowler and right-hand batsman. He has played for West Indies, West Indies Under-19s’, Barbados, University of West Indies Vice Chancellors’ XI and Deccan
Chargers. He has started his cricket from the club level at Barbados, carried on to the West Indies Under-19 team before appearing in the national side.
He is an athletic and fit bowler who is capable of delivering fast and swinging balls mixing with the slower ones to surprise the batsmen. He was lucky to take a place in the national side against Bangladesh in 2009 as the senior players pulled them out
of the Test squad due to some controversy in their contracts. That proved to be a turning point in his career as he 13 wickets in two matches.
Roach entered in the international cricket by appearing in the T20 match against Australia on 20th of June, 2008 at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados, Roach took 2 wickets and the Windies won the match by 7 wickets. He has played 17 matches,
has taken 9 wickets at an average of 27.55 with the best of 2/25 runs.
He started his ODI career on 20th August, 2008 against Bermuda at King City. He has played 17 matches, has taken 33 wickets at an excellent average of 19.75 with the best of 6/27 runs.
He made his debut in the Test cricket against Bangladesh on 9th July at Kingstown, has taken 36 wickets at an average of 28.25 with the best of 6/48 runs in an innings and 7/116 runs in a match.
Roach is at the prime of his career which he demonstrated against Canada by claiming a hat trick. The West Indies will anticipate repetition of his performance in the matches to come which can lead them to an honourable position.
Shafiul Islam is a fast bowler of Bangladesh who made his impact in the cricketing circles by claiming five wickets on his debut first class match. He carried on the hard work and played excellent couple of seasons on the domestic level before he caught
the eyes of the selectors and registered his place in Bangladesh side.
He made his debut in the ODI cricket against Sri Lanka on 4th January, 2010 at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur. He has played 25 matches and has acquired 37 wickets at an average of 29.72 with the best of 4/21 runs.
He played his first Test against India on 17th of January, 2010 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong. He has taken 7 wickets at an average of 71.71 with the best of 3/86 in an innings and match.
He started T20 cricket against New Zealand on 3rd February, 2010 at Seddon Park, Hamilton. He has played 3 matches and claimed a wicket in this form of cricket.
This is a beginning of a bright fast bowler who is gaining experience day by day and can bring handful spells for Bangladesh team which can enable them winning the important matches.
