John Gleasure to assume chairman role after Mattingley’s departure
Playtech has announced that John Gleasure will join its board as a non-executive director, with the option to become chairman in the future. Gleasure brings a wealth of experience in the sports, media, and technology sectors, having spent over 30 years in these industries.

Gleasure will initially receive an annual fee of £140,000 (€163,288/$185,844) as a non-executive director. However, this will increase to £180,000 (€208,304/$244,144) as chairman, pending the annual general meeting (AGM) next month. Gleasure’s appointment comes after Mattingley stepped down as chairman in January, who was appointed chairman executive in April 2021 after leaving his role as CEO of 888.

Gleasure will assume the chairman role after the annual general meeting next month, pending the completion of the sale of Playtech’s Snaitech business to Flutter Entertainment for €2.30 billion.
