Feyenoord Rotterdam’s John Guidetti delighted to score against NAC Breda – Dutch Eredivisie news

Feyenoord Rotterdam striker, John Guidetti, was delighted after making a goal scoring debut in the 3-1 triumph over NAC Breda at Rat Verlegh Stadion on Sunday, September 11. The Rotterdam giants acquired the 19-year-old’s services on a season-long loan deal
from Manchester City this summer.

NAC started the match aggressively and their attacking intent rewarded them early, when they took the lead through Robert Schilder barely after seven minutes of play. However, Otman Bakkal levelled the score-line in the 37th minute following an
impressive header on Jerson Cabral’s corner.

The Yellow Rats tried to take the lead back just before the break, but Erwin Mulder denied Anthony Luring’s effort from distance. Both sides went into the half-time break with the score-line reading 1-1.

De Stadionclub came out stronger after the break and took the deservingly at the hour-mark when Karim El Ahmadi powered effort from 30-yards found the back of the net. In the 86th minute, Roly Bonevacia seemed to foul Ruben Schaken in the area
and the referee awarded a penalty, but the replay showed that the man in-charge judged it harshly. Guidetti was given a chance to take the spot kick, and he made no mistake in hitting the back of the net.

The young striker praised his side’s and the coach and admitted that he is enjoying playing for the Rotterdam giants.

“It was important for the team and the title race that I scored. It was also nice that they let me take the penalty kick. The players are fantastic and so is the coach (Ronald Koeman). They show me great respect. I’m happy with this club”, Guidetti said
while talking to the journalists.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, AC Milan striker and the fellow countrymen of the 19-year-old, also praised the young striker’s performance and revealed that the youngster must grab the given opportunity at Feyenoord.

“Guidetti has got a chance now and he must tackle it. It is tempting for a talent to think that it takes less to succeed in the Eredivisie, but that is not true. He’ll now have to work harder. At City they are expecting him to get the goals that Feyenoord
demand”, Ibrahimovic said in an interview.

After making his impressive debut at the Rotterdam giants, Guidetti would be hoping that he continues to impress many in Netherlands and in Europe.
