FC Twente’s Ola John receives acclaim from Co Adriaanse and Peter Wisgerhof – Dutch Eredivisie
news

FC Twente Enschede boss, Co Adriaanse, and team captain, Peter Wisgerhof, have heaped praise on the young winger, Ola John, following his impressive performances thus far this season.

The 19-year-old started his professional career at De Grolsch Veste last season and has thus far made 25 appearances and managed to hit the back of the net on four occasions. However, he has provided a bagful of assists that has made a big impact at the
Tukkers since last November.

The Tukkers head coach, who has made the youngster a first-team regular following the departure of Bryan Ruiz to Fulham earlier this year, has openly admitted that the young winger is in supreme form and praised the youngster’s performances.

“He is strong and hardly ever injured. Ola is never tired, always ready to go and happy every day. That makes him a very pleasant player to work with”, Adriaanse revealed while talking to the media.

Wisgerhof was also full of praise for the 19-year-old winger and revealed that the youngster is developing rapidly.

“Ola is developing brilliantly. He keeps two opponents busy in every match – he is already good enough that they double-mark him. That gives extra space to his team-mates”, Wisgerhof was quoted as saying to the media.

The Tukkers have performed impressively thus far in Dutch top tier this season. Occupying the third spot in the league table, they are trailing the league leaders AZ Alkmaar by seven points.

The Enschede giants have also performed highly so far in UEFA Europa League this season. They are sitting at the summit of Group K, six points ahead of the second placed Fulham FC.

John, who has remained one of the most consistent performers for the Tukkers this season, asserted that the earlier performances have given him enough confidence to play against any team without nervousness.

“I am never nervous when I go on to the pitch, even if I know I am up against a physically strong opponent. When you are clever, you always get chances, even against a strong opponent”, John said while talking to the media.

The young winger performed highly in the 1-0 win against the Cottagers. Although the 19-year-old failed to add his name to the score-sheet in this encounter, his impressive movement remained a constant menace for the English Premier League outfit.

John would be hoping that he continues to perform impressively until the end of the ongoing season and help his side in winning silverware.
