England Premier League Preview: Week 25

After the sabbatical for FA cup at the weekend the Premier League will return tonight with four mouth watering games.

Manchester United’s unbeaten record in the league this season will be challenged by Aston Villa tonight at the Old Traffors while Arsenal will be looking to maintain their pace in the league when they face Everton at the Emirates Stadium tonight.

Chelsea will be looking to unleash their deadly duo of Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres for the first time ever as they face Sunderland at the stadium of Light but Black Cats have a predator of their own in Darren Bent and Chelsea must keep aware of the
fact.

Another match of the weekend will be played between Wigan and West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns

Arsenal vs Everton

Emirates Stadium (London), Tuesday February 1st, 1945 GMT

Arsenal will be looking to cut Manchester United lead at the top when they host David Moyes’s Everton tonight at the Emirates.

Arsenal are currently second in the league and trail United by five points but will have a chance to cut the lead to 2 points as they start their game before Manchester United and could end up cutting the lead at the top to two points albeit for 15 minutes.

Everton’s topsy-turvy form in the season sees them sitting just five points above the relegation zone but after a positive result last weekend they will be hoping to continue their good form against the gunners tonight.

Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 6 league games and have not conceded a single goal in their last 4 outings but Everton can draw courage from the fact that they have not lost in the league since November last year and a win over Manchester City and a respectable
draw with Chelsea will give them confidence of beating the gunners tonight.

Sunderland vs Chelsea

Stadium of Light (Sunderland), Tuesday February 1st, 1945 GMT

Chelsea will be looking to continue their resurrection after a dismal run of games saw them falling terribly off the pace in the title race but after picking up two wins in two games leading to this match they will be confident of continuing the good form.

Chelsea have the option of playing Fernando Torres and David Luiz in the game after both the players completed their transfer to the London Club and are available for selection but it all depends on manager Carlo Ancelotti if he decides to give the players
their debuts.

Sunderland on the other hand have a debut of their own to hand to Stephane Sessegnon who signed for the Black Cats this week from Paris St Germaine but another signing Sulley Muntari is not fit to play tonight’s game.

West Bromwich Albion vs Wigan Athletic

The Hawthorns, West Bromwich (West Bromwich), Tuesday February 1st, 2000GMT

West Brom will face Wigan tonight in an enthralling battle at the Hawthorns as both the teams are flirting with relegation. Wigan are in the drop zone while West Brom are just three points above them.

West Brom will be hoping to give Carlos Vela his debut after securing his signature from Arsenal on a loan deal till the end of the season but Steven Reid and Graham Dorrans are injury doubts for tonight’s game.

Wigan will be without the services of Antolin Alcaraz and Tom Cleverley, both of whom are nursing injuries while Ali Al Habsi could return for the Latics in goal after being rested at the weekend for the FA Cup game agains Bolton.

Manchester United vs Aston Villa

Old Trafford (Manchester), Tuesday February 1st, 2000 GMT

Manchester United will be looking to continue their unbeaten run in the league this season when they face Aston Villa at the theatre of Dreams tonight.

United will be bolstered by the fact that their back five of Van der Sar, Rafael da Silva, Rio Ferdinand, Nemaja Vidic and Patrice Evra could all return after missing g the weekend’s FA Cup fixture against Southampton for various reasons.
