Let’s put it this way – boxing is a diverse sport. Every fighter has his individual style. Some fighters make it to the top smoothly while others are involved in controversies that topple their careers. In the past, we have seen some really outstanding fighters
that couldn’t make it to the top or got the respect they deserved just because of their ‘out of ring’ acts. Mike Tyson stands as the primary example. Initially, we all thought that he is the one who will make it big but he didn’t. Instead, we saw his career
tumble down in no time. We all forgot who Tyson was and he was replaced by others. On the other hand, we have had boxers who despite of being ‘boring’ have stayed on the top for a long time such as Lennox Lewis.

So, when it comes down to ranking boxers on their achievements or their style, most people have a debate to put up. Some think it’s not about achievements and about the attitude while some think achievements are everything. So, here we have compiled a list
of the best three boxers of 2011 considering not only a fighter’s achievements but also his capabilities and attitude.

Here you go…

Floyd Mayweather Jr.:

This can come as a surprise to many but this is how we see it. Most ‘Pac-man’ fans would gripe about it but you see we can’t walk away from the fact that Mayweather is a better fighter than Pacquiao. Even though Pacquiao has achieved much more, Mayweather
still stands as the undefeated fighter. He has 0 losses in his portfolio with 46 wins out of which 26 are KO wins. Pacquiao has been defeated once and twice he was disqualified which means he has 3 losses in his portfolio. Mayweather has held several titles,
in fact nearly all the titles that are there to achieve for pound-to-pound boxers. With this fact on the line and that Mayweather is seen as a fiercer fighter, he definitely ranks number one.

Manny Pacquiao:

Here you go! If you’ve been where Manny is so here he is! Don’t be offended if you are a Manny fan but this time we truly thought he deserves to be on number 2 and not 1. Well, definitely when it comes to Manny’s accomplishments we have to admit that he
is number 1. But, considering the fact that he has 3 bouts and has won some with controversial decisions, his capabilities become doubtful when compared to Mayweather.

Juan Manuel Marquez:

Well, Manuel was and is considered to be one of the best fighters we have seen. However, since he was defeated by Manny thrice, there’s no way we will be listing Juan above Manny. No matter what fans have to say, Manny has thrice established the fact that
he is a better fighter than Manuel. Marquez has 6 loses and 53 wins in his portfolio which is good enough to rank on third.

The Verdict…

Nobody today can doubt the fact that Mayweather and Manny are the best fighters today. The third ranking is a bit doubtful since some think Sergio Martinez and Nonito Donaire are better than Marquez. However, since Marquez has gained enormous attention in
the recent past due to his bouts with Manny, we think he deserves the 3rd spot.
