"He took the wrong pill," jokes Deigo Maradona about Pele’s suggestions about Messi – La Liga News

Argentina’s football great, Diego Maradona, has joked about Pele’s claims about Pele’s suggestions about Lionel Messi. The Argentine legend rebutted Pele’s claim about Brazilian youngster, Neymar, being more complete than 2010’s Balon D’Or winner, Lionel Messi.

Brazilian legend Pele recently suggested that Brazil’s Neymar was a more complete player than Argentina’s Lionel Messi. He made claims that Neymar has been able to perform well for both, club and country. On the other hand, he suggested that since Messi has not been able to perform as well for Argentina as he has for Barcelona, he is not yet a complete player.

The retired veteran observed that unless Lionel Messi makes a noticeable impact with Argentina, his cannot be called a great player.

Pele has remained busy passing comments and making suggestions associated with the Barcelona number 10, for quite a while now. He has remained busy with the press insisting that Messi is not a great player on several occasions.

He also claimed to have sent the 24-year-old a DVD about his career, when Messi expressed that he had not seen the Brazilian play.

However, Pele’s efforts to belittle the Argentine reached a new level when he called Neymar better and more complete than Messi.

These suggestions provoked a reaction from Diego Maradona, who dismissed Pele’s claims sarcastically. While talking to a press conference, Maradona was quoted as saying:

"He took the wrong pill. Instead of taking the pill for before bedtime, he took his morning pill.”

The Al Wasi coach hit out at the Brazilian and suggested that his comments about Messi were absurd.

"He got confused and he doesnt know what he's saying... I suggest that next time he takes the right medication before he starts to speak, and that he changes his doctor,” the Argentine joked.

Lionel Messi has been widely considered as one of the best football players in the world. His title as the world’s best has been emphasized with the success he has achieved while playing for Spanish giants, Barcelona.

However, Messi has been unable to perform too well for Argentina, as he has not played as well as it was expected of him, for his country.

Although Neymar has been impressive with his club and country, many still consider a comparison between Neymar and Messi to be invalid.
