Sehwag rewrites history with 219

Virender Sehwag is considered as one of the finest slogger of the ball, and his record speaks volume about his class. Stylish opener created history by smashing a world record double hundred in One-Day International (ODI) cricket against West Indies at Holkar Stadium, Indore.

Virender Sehwag said:

"I am happy to have broken my role model Sachin Tendulkar's record. It won't be easy for people to score double hundreds. Over the last so many years only two have done it. This opportunity will come only once in a lifetime and I am happy I have taken it.”

When Viru played a cut shot on Russell’s speedy delivery, he achieved the milestones of 200 runs and crowd was going mad. He has broken the world record of  the great Sachin Tendulker, who scored 200 unbeaten against South Africa at Gwalior.

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulker congratulates him and said:

"I am very happy for Viru. It is even more satisfying that an Indian has broken my record."

Viru played numerous remarkable knocks but his last one, was treat to watch. He has slogging at every corner of the ground and getting 142 runs from boundaries as he hits 7 sixes and 25 fours. He scored double hundred (219), in just 149 balls.

Famous cricket commentator and former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja wrote complementary comments on Twitter:

"When Viv. Richards retired I thought it was end of entertainment. But then came Sehwag, the King of entertainment! Long live the King!!"

Colleague Yuvraj Singh Twitted:

“I never saw Sir Viv bat but I've seen Sehwag bat!”

Viru’s Performance throughout his entire career was outstanding which evidenced by his bundle of records and some of them seem to be Jubilant like in a test against the rival Pakistan back in 2007 where he attempted an outstanding knock off 309 runs in Multan test and appeared in the list of triple hundred achievers in a comprehensive manner and a recent mile stone of 219 runs against helpless West Indian side who stand him at the top of highest run maker in ODI’s format of the trade.

Sehwag scored two triple-hundreds, 4 double centuries and 7 times scored more than 150 in test cricket. Sehwag also holds the record for the highest score made by an Indian in Test cricket (319), which was also the fastest triple century in the history of International Cricket as he reached 300 runs in just 278 balls. He has also made a fastest 250 runs in just 207 balls against Sri Lanka.

Virender Shewag, a name which became a sign of fear for every opponent attack of the world and his aggression made him a run machine in all versions of the game. Some of the experts and popular commentary figures like Ramiz raja and Ravi Shastri titled him as the “king of entertainment” and “genius cricketing brain” after the great Sir Vivian Richards in the history of international cricket respectively. Over all Shewag is a complete package of Entertainment, Glamour and Excellence which make him a treat to watch for the cricket lovers.
