Schalke 04 shot-stopper Manuel Neuer denies moving abroad

Bundesliga outfit, Schalke 04, goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, has denied about moving abroad to play at any top club at the end of the season. The German international shot-stopper has been heavily linked with a move to English Premier League powerhouse, Manchester United, to replace Edwin Van der Sar who is going to retire at the end of the season.

However, the 24-year-old gloves man has made it clear that he has no intention to leave his current club to play away from his home. The German international is delighted with his current performances and is more than happy to stay in Germany.

Neuer said, “I get the chance to travel abroad twice a year, during the summer holiday and again in the winter holiday. Is it crucial for a player to play abroad at one point? Some players seem to think so, but I disagree. I cannot choose between loyalty toward Schalke and winning trophies elsewhere.”

“One has to think about himself at one point. The most important things are being happy and successful. I want to win the Bundesliga title at least once in my career. I am a German international and play in the German league. I really want to win the biggest national trophy”, he concluded.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper has remained a fruitful choice for the Red Devils manager, Alex Ferguson, who has been in desperate search of an impressive goalie. However, Ferguson hopes to secure the Germany international services would be dashed with his statement.

Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich, have also chased the Germany international. However, when The Bavarians hosted Die Knappen at Allianz Arena a month before, the home fans made it clear that they do not want Neuer as their new shot-stopper. They held boards stating ‘Go Neuer’ that left the Bavarians team management that they would not be able to secure the Germany international services.

Neuer is hoping that he can add two more silverwares to his trophy showcase at the end of the season, as he has already won two league cups. Die Knappen are already in the final of the DFB Pokal Cup and in the last eight of the UEFA Champions League. It looks like that the 24-year-old gloves man will not be changing his club at the end of the season.
