 Results of Under-21 singles event of the Polish Open


The final of Under 21 men's and women's singles events of the Polish Open were held on the 19th of Marc 2011, at Wladysawowo, Poland. The sixth International Table Tennis Federation Pro Tour of the year started on the 16th of March has now reached in its concluding rounds.

In the men's Under-21 singles events Seo Hyun Deok from Korea won the first title of the ITTF Pro tour in 2011 against his own compatriot, Lee Sang Su. The match was ended after the first game as Lee got injured and Seo got the victory.

Seo performance remained consistent throughout the tournament; in the early stages of the event round of 32, he defeated Wong Chun Ting. The match remained very close but Seo won the match in the decider game (15-13, 12-10, 6-11, 8-11, 4-11).

In the round of 16 he competed he won over Robinot Quentin from France in straight games scoring (5-11, 8-11, 8-11). In the quarter finals he defeated Pavel Sirucek from Czech Republic in a close game six games scoring (9-11, 6-11, 13-11, 3-11, 11-8, 9-11).

In the semi final stage the match Li Ahmet from Turkey won the first game. Li was not at all an easy contender as he defeated Alexander Shibaev from Russia in the round of 16. Seo fought back and the match extended over six games (14-12, 9-11, 6-11, 8-11, 11-8, 3-11). Seo won the match; he was one step away from victory.

The lady luck shined on Seo in the finals he won the match without any problem, his opponent Lee sang Su got injured after the first game of the match scoring 4-11.

In the women's Under-21 it was Lee Ho Ching an 18 year old player from Hong Kong who won the title. In the final event she defeated her own compatriot NG Wing Nam over six games (10-12, 11-5, 7-11, 11-4, 11-9, 11-3).

In the round of 16 Lee won over the German player Kathrin Muhlbach in a very close match of five games (6-11,11-4,11-9,11-13,11-8). In the quarter finals she faced Tashiro Saki from Japan, the match remained head to head but in the decider game Lee won by 11-7. The match extended over seven games (11-9, 6-11, 11-9, 9-11, 6-11, 11-7, 11-7).

For Wing it was a great progress to reach the semi finals as she won over the Chinese player Li Xiaodan in a six games match (11-9, 8-11, 7-11, 11-4, 11-5, 12-10) in the quarter finals.

In the semi finals Lee faced Margaryta Pesotska from Ukraine and won in five games (11-7, 12-10, 11-9, 7-11, 11-6). Whereas Wing won against Petrissa Solja from Germany in a match of six games scoring (8-11, 11-7, 11-2, 7-11, 3-11, 7-11).
