Real Madrid vs Malaga – Spanish La Liga match review - Part 3
Real Madrid full-back Marcelo was involved in another breath-taking move created by the Los Blancos.
After some lovely footwork, Angel Di Maria passed the ball on to Marcelo who was in the opposition territory anew. The Brazilian crossed the ball into the 18-yard box and found the head of Karim Benzema. The Frenchman was not wasteful in front of a goalpost
and easily nodded it to find the back of the net.
With the first 4 goals coming from 4 different Real Madrid players, it was time for the stars to perform against the easier side. The Los Blancos literally toyed around with Malaga’s defensive walls which got them frustrated and they started fouling the
home team’s players. In return the visiting side received yellow cards.
Consequently, frustrations increased for Malaga as their Manolo Gaspar got 2 yellow cards. However, the reason for the second yellow was not a bad tackle but a hand ball. The Malaga centre-back was handling the ball inside the 18-yard box which resulted
in not only a red card but also a penalty-kick awarded to Real Madrid.
Portuguese captain Cristiano Ronaldo stood over the ball as Real Madrid were being awarded a penalty-kick. Their goal-scoring sensation made no mistake from the spot and fired his shot at the top corner to score his 26th goal of the 2010-11 season.
However, Ronaldo scored his second goal of the game and Karim Benzema too scored a brace. It was definitely turning out to be a nightmare for Malaga who were 6 goals down against a very strong looking Real Madrid.
With Real Madrid easily winning the match6-0, Ronaldo started playing for a hat-trick. The Portuguese took his shots on goal from long range but none of them could find the target. After 9 minutes gone from the previous goal scored, Cristiano Ronaldo finally
completed his hat-trick.
Afterwards, Sergio Canales created the move for his side. Canales showed great piece of skill on the left flank as he got past 2 Malaga players. His move was complete finding Cristiano Ronaldo inside the box. Ronaldo, in front of goal from such a close range,
easily tapped the ball in and found the back of the net for the third time during the game.
Cristiano Ronaldo showed discomfort after his third goal and told the coach to substitute him. Even though Real Madrid had run out of all 3 substitutions, the damage taken by the Portuguese captain was secured as he barely featured for later 13 minutes of
Real Madrid are now seven points behind the high-flying Barcelona who won a difficult game against Valencia on Wednesday. On the other hand, Malaga are fighting relegation as they are only a point above the last placed Almeria.
