Paris Saint-Germain has a slight advantage in the upcoming encounter – Jean-Michel Aulas

Olympique Lyonnais owner, Jean-Michel Aulas has deemed that Paris Saint-Germain will have a slight advantage in the upcoming gala of 2011/12 Ligue 1 Championelle.

Les Gones visit to Parc des Princes, on Sunday 2nd October, 2011, is one of the most anticipated duels in the French league this season. The president of Lyon observed that Les Parisiens might have a slight advantage on Sunday.

In an interview to local radio station, RMC, Aulas was quoted saying, “Paris has a number of certainties that we do have yet, but we’ll take our chance jauntily. We have more injured players than them. Our employees are less rich, much younger and a lot cheaper, so a small advantage for PSG.”

The President further added that with the massive investment of Qatar Sports Investments in French football proved to be a saviour of the league. He further congratulated the Coach and the sporting director Antoine Kombouare and Leonardo respectively, on building a giant in the French Ligue 1.

“I believe that the takeover of PSG by the Qatari shareholders have indirectly saved the whole of French football, the fact that the first big clash of Ligue 1 takes place at the capital and with PSG, is great for football.” said Aulas.

Lyon and PSG are tied in first place with Toulouse FC in Week 8 of the 2011/12 Ligue 1 Championelle. Both the teams will be keen on holding their top spot in the 9th week clash of Ligue 1.

Les Gones are in top form lately, having lost only once in the 2011/12 Ligue 1 Championnat and with their recent win at the UEFA Champions League against Dinamo Zagreb, would have boosted their confidence level, before the weekend clash.

Furthermore, PSG too have only lost one game in the domestic championship. With their 3-0 victory over Montpellier HSC in the last Ligue 1 match, the capital club are desperate in taking an early lead in the title race.

Although the president appears to have adopted the role of an underdog in the upcoming clash, he still believes that his team will be able to overcome the upcoming challenge, especially since Les Parisiens lost 2-0 to Athletic Bilbao in the second round of 2011/12 UEFA Europa League.
