Oliveira Anderson out for two months & Van der Vaart out for Spurs

Manchester United’s Brazilian midfielder Anderson has been ruled out of action for the next two months, the left footer suffered a knee injury during the last game.

The injury comes as a big blow for Manchester United as they look to make a charge in the final third of the season. There is a prospect of winning treble for United as they are on top of the Premier League; United made their way to the final eight of the FA Cup, as they beat Crawley Town on the weekend. Red Devils are set to face the French club Marseille in the first leg of the final 16 clash in UEFA Champions League. Manchester United won the historic treble back in 1999 when they won all three titles under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Manchester United spent most of the season so far with a few injury worries, and their problems in recent weeks have been compounded.

Antonio Valencia the right winger has been out of the team since September, following a tackle by Glasgow Rangers defender Kirk Broadfoot that broke his ankle. Owen Hargreaves has been out for more than a season and in his first game was sent back to the medical room as he limped off against the Wolves.

Prior to the injury to Anderson, Ji Sun Park the South Korean midfielder also suffered an injury just after coming back from international duty. The right winger was away playing for the South Koreans in the Asian Cup, and in his first training session after coming back he got himself injured.

According to the reports coming in from British media, Anderson left United’s training ground on crutches. United’s medical team is hoping that he would not need surgery, but still they are prepared to play without him till mid of April.

Rafael van der Vaart, the midfielder at Tottenham has been ruled out of the Spurs next encounter against Blackpool on Tuesday.

Harry Redknapp the manager of Tottenham has announced that Netherland international will not be back to play for the next 10 days.

The former Real Madrid Midfielder was on the pitch for an hour in the win against Ac Milan on Tuesday last week. He picked up the injury in the match against Bolton on 5th of February; Spurs won the game 2-1.

Harry Redknapp said that the Dutchman is expected to be fit in time for the match against the Wolves on 6th of March.  The all important 2nd leg of the final 16 in the Champions League is against Ac Milan, and that match is on 9th of March.

Redknapp said: "Rafa did his calf again yesterday in training so he's struggling (for Tuesday's Blackpool game). He missed a couple of games, played in Milan, got through 70 minutes and then yesterday morning didn't feel good.”

"It's a blow, he is a fantastic player. We need him but we can't get that run out of him”.

Rafel van Der Vaart joined Tottenham on the final day of the winter transfer window. Tottenham got a great bargain on the midfielder, as he was not happy at Madrid and despite his best efforts was not able to get a berth in the first team. Rafael had tried his best to stay at Madrid and fight for a place, but when Jose Mourinho bought the German duo of Mesut Ozil and Sami Khedira he knew that it was time to move on.  He has proved to be a wonderful signing for the Spurs with 12 goals already.
