Malaga CF defender Martin Demichelis fancies Bayern Munich return

Malaga CF centre-back, Martin Demichelis, has admitted that he could be on his way out from the Spanish La Liga side at the end of the season if his side is relegated to Segunda Division. The 30-year-old central defender fancies his chances to rejoin Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich, in the summer.

The experienced centre-back joined Los Boquerones from the Bavarians on a six-month loan deal in the winter transfer market, as Die Roten manager, Louis Van Gaal, had a clash with him.

Demichelis said, “If we somehow fail to prevent relegation against all expectations and the new Bayern coach wants me, I could very well return to Bavaria. I'd love to return home if we can't hold on to our Primera Division status with Malaga.”

Los Boquerones are currently placed 16th in the league table, lone point adrift from the safety zone. The Anchovies will be hoping to achieve superior results in the remaining fixtures and climb out of the danger zone. With nine matches left to play in the season, Los Boquerones manager, Manuel Pelligrini, would be hoping to bag maximum points if they have any ambition to stay in the Spanish top-flight.

The 30-year-old central defender started his professional career with Club Atletico River Plate in 2001/02 season. In 2003/04 season, the Argentinean international joined the Bavarians second team and he made his place in the Bavarians first team just after one year. He has remained a vital part for the Bavarians, as he scored 13 goals in his 174 appearances. He earned his first international cap while playing for Argentina in 2005.

La Liga outfit have the option to make the Argentinean international stay at the club by offering him a new contract at the end of the season. However, Los Boquerones have to prolong their stay in La Liga if they want to keep the centre-back, as the 30-year-old defender does not intend to play in the Spanish second division club football.
