Jason Kokrak joined Kyle Thompson on top of the Callaway Golf Pebble Beach Invitational leaderboard

Jason Kokrak joined Kyle Thompson after finishing 3 under 69 to take the lead in the 40th event of $300,000 purse Callaway Golf Pebble Beach Invitational at Del Monte.

Kokrak managed 5 birdies on Friday with bogeying 2 holes to finish on 3 under. He could have taken the sole lead if he had avoided the bogeys that he played.

"I hit the ball really well," said Kokrak. "But I could have shot six or seven strokes (under) if I could have putted the ball better."

The overnight leader Thompson finished 2 under 70 Del Monte to share the lead with Kokrak with overall 10 under 134. He had 5 birdies and 2 bogeys in the second round. In the first round that he played at the Del Monte, he had a superb hole-in-one and finished 8 under 64. This is his first event at Del Monte.

"It's a tough course and it was tough to make putts out there," said Thompson. "Other than, I hit the ball well."

John Mallinger, defending champion of Pebble Beach Invitational, gave poor performance on the second round and finished 4 over par 76. He finished the first round with 2 over 74 and now placed at 6 over par 150 which clearly demonstrates the poor form he is having in this year’s event.

Cameron Tringale and Matt Battencourt tied for the 3rd position after finishing 5 under and 4 under respectively.  Both of them have overall score of 8 under 136.

Harrison Frazar finished 4 under 68 in second round to take the 5th position on the leaderboard.

Leta Lindley is leading the Ladies Professional Golf Association participants with finishing at par 72. There are total of 8 LPGA players that are participating in the event.

This event is played between the players from Professional Golf Association (PGA) Tour, LPGA Tour, Nationwide Tour and the Champions Tour. There are total of 83 professional golf players competing each other in the tournament and the top-40 will qualify to the final round that will be played on Sunday.  Third round of the event will be played tomorrow.
