It will be great to see Shane Warne back in Sydney Thunder, says David Warner – Cricket News Update

The Sydney Thunder skipper, David Warner, has heaped praise on the legendary Australian spinner, Shane Warne and termed his presence in the revamped Big Bash T20 League tournament as a great sign.

Warne, who formally announced to hang its boots from every format of the game after playing Indian Premier League-4 (IPL), is being lobbied by the two Melbourne teams for the high-profile domestic event, starting from December. However, the bowling rock-star has not thrown ball on any one’s court yet.

Warner regards Warne as a ‘world-class bowler’ against whom, he played in the past IPL tournament. He opines that if the legend steps into the BBL, the tournament will be filled with thrill, joy and interest.

Talking to the media today, Warner said, “I played against him last year in the IPL, and he's a world-class bowler. He still has 'it' and I he's never going to lose it, I don't think. It'll be great to see him back, and I hope he does well."

Warne’s status in the BBL is hitting the headline of the Australian media in these days. The former Aussies vice-captain has also had some meetings with the league management and a positive decision is expected from him, but it is still not clear that which of the two sides he will join.

The domestic fans are eager to see Warne back in action on their own soil as he has rarely played at home since quitting international cricket. However, he led Rajasthan Royals in all four seasons of the cash-rich IPL.

Warney is currently planning for his second marriage with his much publicised short-term girlfriend, Elizabeth Hurley, a British model and actress who has divorced her husband after falling in love with the rock-star cricketer. Hurley-Warne love affair has been talk of the town since last six months.

The 42-year-old spin master represented Team Australia in 145 Tests and 194 ODIs from 1992 to 2007, grabbing 708 and 293 wickets in the two formats respectively. Had he played more, he would have broken the Sri Lankan spinner, Muttiah Muralitharan’s world record of 800 Test wickets.
