Horse Racing: Saturday meetings schedule

Saturday will offer some quality racing to the fans of the sport and all those involved in the horse business. The type of going, the race and the time at which the races will begin have been summarized for some of the prominent events that will be taking place on Saturday, for the convenience of those who follow the sports.

The first prominent race that will be taking place today is the one at the Bangor-On-Dee racecourse. The going of the track has been reported to be good as 5 mm of rain fell on the area on Wednesday. However, the ground has not completely dried out even after the sunny spells. The first race will take place at 2.05 p.m. GMT.

Second is the much awaited and flaunted Kempton meeting. As for the ground, the going has been declared as being standard. The first race at the Kempton racecourse has been scheduled to start at 2.30 pm GMT.

The Lingfield racecourse will be featuring the Winter Derby on Saturday, which is the first race of the flat season. The first race of the meeting will take place at 2.00 pm GMT and the ground is being described as standard.

The going for the Newbury meeting has been declared as being good. The weather in the area has generally been dry for the past day and night. Since there was extreme drying yesterday afternoon, the management of the racecourse had to put some 3 mm of water to relieve the ground of extreme dryness. The first race of the Newbury meeting has been revealed to start at 1.45 pm GMT.

The Stratford racecourse has been watered after which the going for the track has been described as being good, good to firm in places. The overnight temperature of the area was -1C and a total of 16 mm of water has been applied to the track during the week. The first race will begin at 2.20 pm GMT.

The Hurdle course of Navan will offer the ground as being Yielding, meanwhile the going for the Chase course has been declared as being Soft In Back Straight. The first race of the Navan meeting will begin at 2.15 pm GMT. The temperature of the area has been revealed to be 9C, the speed of the wind recorded as 13 kilometer per hour.

Last, but not the least, the Meydan racecourse is offering a standard going. Meanwhile, the first race will start at 1.15 pm GMT.
