High Earner is on the top of the AGRA Greyhound Rankings

The most incredible greyhound in the history of Australian Greyhound Racing, High Earner who holds the record of highest stake earnings ever in the history of Australia has been titled as the number 1 greyhound in the country. The Australian Greyhound Racing Association, AGRA has released the rankings till the month of March.

High Earner is placed at the top position in the rankings having 188 points and keeping in view his two astonishing performances recently. The first one came in the Group 1 Perth Cup and the second was in the Group 1 Temlee.

After running second in the Group 1 Australian Cup final High Earner has retired to stud with Paul Westeryeld, the stud master. But now the incredible greyhound has been returned to Kelvyn Greenough’s kennels and will be among the contestants in the Group 1 Golden Easter Egg heats which will be conducted on this Saturday night.

Kilty Lad is ranked the second position with 175 points as the chaser has won two Group 1 competitions. First one was Group n1 Silver Chief and the other was Adelaide Cup. The three time Group 1 runner-up Perfect Fancy is remained long way down at third position with 112 points.

A double strike in the Derby made Bogie King to achieve the fourth place having 110 points while the Group 1 Australian Cup and Group 3 Devonport Cup winner St. Pierre is also among the top five greyhounds.

The highly graded Australian bitch, Gold Heritage secured the seventh position having 81 points. The bitch has run second in the Group 2 Cranbourne Cup and also in the Group 1 Perth Cup.

The super stayers Blue Lorian at 6th, So Seductive at 7th, Bobby Boucheau at 10th and the Group 1 National Futurity conqueror Crystin Bale at 9th also succeeded to be among the top 10 greyhounds.

But most important thing for the Australian greyhound breeders is that there are only two greyhounds by imported sires (dogs) who maintained their position in the top 25 Australian greyhounds. They include the 17th ranked Tuaiki born by Premier Fantasy which has 40 points due to victory in the Group 2 Gosford Gold Cup. The second one is also by the same sire with 35 points and placed at 23rd place as a result of his second position in Cranbourne Cup and it is Finbar McCool.

Along with this among the top 25 dogs there appear only four which are by the imported greyhound sires through the dam (bitch) sire.

Among these there is 9th ranked Crystin Bale which is the daughter of Sorrento Bale and the US sire Bomb Threat, the 10th ranked Bobby Boucheau who is the son of Dallas Gypsy and US sire EJ’s Douglas. The other two are 16th placed Dashing Corsair and 25th ranked Stanford Bale.
